What’s New in Maya 2027?
The latest releases focus on modernizing core tools, reducing friction in asset creation, and helping artists iterate more quickly across animation, layout, and simulation. Autodesk Community

MotionMaker: Horse Archetype
MotionMaker’s growing AI motion library adds support for horses, with a new 3D character and AI model trained on real-world mocap data. Autodesk Generate believable base motion — walk, trot, canter, gallop, transitions — in seconds, then refine the performance. Joins the existing biped and canine archetypes.

Smart Bevel
Generates bevels by following the surface shape rather than the underlying topology, producing more predictable results on irregular meshes including at Boolean intersections. Autodesk Fully non-destructive with construction history retained.

Bifrost 3.0
(Maya only, not in Maya Creative) — Updated simulation framework with new options for liquid and rigid body simulation, including procedural destruction workflows and Flow Wedging for generating multiple simulation variations in parallel via the cloud.

LookdevX 2.0
The UV Editor now displays all nodes with UV coordinate inputs. MaterialX documents support relative file paths, and the Archive Scene feature now works with Maya scenes containing MaterialX documents. Autodesk

Wonder 3D / Flow Studio Integration
A generative AI model in Flow Studio can quickly generate 3D characters or objects from a text prompt or reference image, with export paths to Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, and Unreal Engine. Autodesk Community A new Flow Studio Launcher button is now built directly into Maya’s Status Line.

Autodesk Assistant (Tech Preview)
An in-product AI help chatbot that searches product documentation and answers workflow questions inside Maya. Autodesk

USD for Maya 0.35
Improved USD interoperability with a new Variant Manager for managing asset variations, and an Asset Resolver for stable, predictable asset path resolution as scenes grow.

Arnold for Maya (MtoA 5.6.0)
Updated to Arnold 7.5 core. Improved rendering speed for complex scenes, volumes, GPU workflows, plus new stylized shaders and refined hair and bloom rendering.
System requirements for Maya 2027:
Windows 11, macOS 14.0 or later, RHEL and Rocky Linux 8.10/9.7.
